Before I was converted I was a non-practicing Catholic. I ‘believed’ but I didn’t know for certain about the Lord. I lived normally without purpose. I thought life was good enough in that way. The most important things before were money and marriage. As I said, I didn’t attend church, but I just went when it was necessary. I wasn’t happy but I thought it was normal.
 
Before I didn’t know what Jesus had done. Now I know that he died for me and that, trusting in him, he forgives my sins. One day I had serious problems with my husband. During this time I got ot know a Christian person who helped me very much and who helped me know the Lord. With her help I started to read the Bible and to meet other Christian sisters. I’ve discovered a different life: THE LORD EXISTS and he speaks to me through the Bible. He helps me every time. I met with these sisters and I read the Bible and we talked about the Word.

Since that moment I have come to understand that my life before was wrong. Now that I live in Christ I live better and I’m satisfied. I have passed through some difficult times, but the Lord never leaves me. When I think that He died for us, to save us, I cry, because God gave his only Son to save us! He’s great and He loves us. Since coming to know the Lord my life has changed in a better way. Every day I pray and every time He listens to me, whether I pray alone or just ask for help. Reading the Bible strengthens me. Also going to church on Sundays gives me both the strength and the peace to face the working week.

Knowing the Lord personally is like always having someone that guides you in every step of your life, it’s like being a child. The life of a Christian is not easy; it’s full of pitfalls, but with the help of the Lord you can go on. But you must want it. The Lord gives us the hope of the eternal life.

My favourite verse in the Bible is Ephesians 6:10: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Io prima ero Cattolica non praticante, credevo ma non avevo certezze nel Signore. Vivevo normalmente senza stimoli, mi sembrava che la vita andasse bene così. Le cose più importanti per me prima erano i soldi e il matrimonio. Come ho detto non frequentavo la chiesa, lo facevo solo quando era necessario. Non ero felice ma pensavo che fosse normale. 

Prima non sapevo quello che Gesù aveva fatto, adesso so che è morto per me e che, avendo fiducia in Lui, perdona i miei peccati. Un giorno ho avuto dei problemi gravi con mio marito, nel frattempo ho conosciuto una persona cristiana che mi ha aiutata molto e che mi ha fatto conoscere il Signore. Con il suo aiuto ho iniziato a leggere la Bibbia e a frequentare altre persone sorelle cristiane. Ho scoperto una vita diversa; IL SIGNORE ESISTE e mi parla attraverso la Bibbia. Lui mi aiuta ogni volta. Con queste sorelle mi incontravo e leggevo la Bibbia e commentavamo la Parola.

Da quel momento ho capito che prima la mia vita era sbagliata, adesso che vivo in Cristo vivo meglio e sono soddisfatta. Passo dei periodi con prove molto difficili, ma il Signore non mi abbandona mai. Quando penso che Lui è morto per noi, per salvarci, mi metto a piangere, perché Dio ha donato il suo unico figlio per salvarci, è grande e ci vuole bene.

Da quando conosco il Signore la mia vita è cambiata in meglio. Prego tutti i giorni e ogni volta Lui mi ascolta sia che io sia sola in preghiera che io chieda solo aiuto. Leggere la Bibbia mi dà forza, anche andare la domenica al culto mi dà sia la forza che la tranquillità per poter affrontare la settimana lavorativa. 

Conoscere il Signore personalmente è come avere sempre qualcuno che ti guida a fare ogni passo della tua vita, è come essere bambini. La vita del cristiano non è facile, è piena di insidie ma con l’aiuto del Signore riesci ad andare avanti, bisogna però volerlo. Il Signore ci dà la speranza della vita eterna. Il mio passo preferito della Bibbia è Efesini 6: 10 - Del resto, fratelli miei, fortificatevi nel Signore e nella forza della sua potenza.
