Dyfan
was born into a Christian family in North Wales. He has three brothers.
He recalls first being affected by the gospel message when he was a young
child. He thanked the Lord for dying in his place and sought God.s forgiveness.
This child-like faith developed, and he was baptised upon his profession
of faith in Christ as Lord and Saviour just after his fourteenth birthday
in Zion Baptist Church, Penycae, and was received into church membership.
He studied for a degree in English Literature at University College Cardiff
(1987-90), and married Caroline in 1991. He worked for three years in Christian
ministry among students (for UCCF) and in 1995 accepted a call to be co-pastor
of Grace Baptist Church, Southport, UK. After serving the church there
for 10 years he accepted a call in December 2005 to pastor the International
Church of Torino.
Caroline was born in Liverpool
but grew up in Scotland. Her father was a Baptist pastor in Ayrshire and
Glasgow. She has a younger brother and sister. She was first affected by
the gospel at the age of 7, when she was convicted that, where she to die
as a child, her parents. faith would not be sufficient to get her to heaven.
She realised that she had to trust Christ as her own personal Saviour.
This faith matured through childhood and she was baptised at the age of
15 in Cumnock Baptist Church, Scotland and was received into church membership
there. In Glasgow she passed her Diploma in Occupational Therapy, and began
work in a hospital in Lancashire, specialising in Psychiatry. She continued
in this work until the family moved to Southport, where she then served
in the church.
Dyfan and Caroline have three
children: Megan (who died in 2003, aged 10), Lloyd (born 1995) and Sian (born 199.8). |
