| Richard's Testimony
I
was born 18 years ago in Kumasi, a city right in the heart of Ghana. My
parents were both raised in Christian families and are both Christians.
My mum, as a youngster, attended the Roman Catholic church but after she
married my dad, she followed him to his church, the Methodist Church.
I was therefore born and
raised in the Methodist Church. I grew up believing in the Word of God
and thus believing in Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour. I believed
that he came down to the earth and was crucified that I might be saved.
I also believe in his resurrection, and know that he is the way, the truth
and the life; that no-one can come to God the Father, except through him
(John 14:6).
On the whole, Christ has
always been the 'role model' in my life. I must admit that living as a
Christian is not easy at all. There are times when things fall apart and
everything seems rather bleak, making me tremble in my Christian faith.
Moreover, I know that not everyone in this avant garde society will like
you because of your faith; rejection and persecution might come in. Ups
and downs in the Christian life are a surity but the Lord has promised
nevertheless to see me through: "for though a righteous man falls seven
times, he rises again" (Proverbs 24:16).
I know that life on earth
and in heaven is neither my right nor anything I deserve. I owe everything
to the Lord Jesus. My life, my hope, my strength, and my refuge is in the
Lord God Almighty. |
